This is yet another image from a uni project, where we were asked to design the display in Topshop; I decided to design 2D large panels (not very good at 3D stuff ) I wanted to show a mixture of old and new, so I went with the idea of showing Victorian/Edwardian clothing, but also an item of clothing that's modern. See if you can spot it.
This picture focuses on modern jeans, but also shows hints of older clothing; I love old Victorian boots, though I'm sure they were quite painful to wear for any length of time!
Coloured/drawn with a combination of brown fineliner, gouache and water-based paint.
Well, the boots do go well with those trousers, but goddamn it woman, those denims! You can almost reach out and touch them - you must have studied hard for this one, cos those jeans are just about touchable!!!!
I want those kind of boots! Hehe, thankyou, but I have a slight confession to make - the jeans (and all the other pieces of clothing on the other window display images) are photos! *feels like a cheat* Originally I was going to draw them, but my tuors wanted them to be 'real', so I didn't have much say in the matter. :/
this window display is such a cool concept, and you've done a great job of executing it. Once again I'm impressed by the detailed shading and the authentic look of the Victorian clothing. The color scheme (with the bolder background and the more 'antique' feel of the brown fineliner) is also a nice blend of modern and Victorian.
Thankyou very much, and I'm especially glad you think it has a Victorian look about it; I wasn't sure if I'd put that across enough. I love those fineliners! If I'd have had my way, the whole thing would've been like that, though I don't think my patience would have lasted, plus the tutors were dead against it. 9_9 Thanks again for the comment!
oh no i like this one! this is very good...and its bold! although i will say its not as heavily themed as the previous one...you know what i like is how static the trousers look on the figure, its a nice touch ast when is the crit for this? tuesday?
