Here's the second in my series of villainous posters! The last in the Greek Mythology section, featuring none other than the Minotaur. :D I wanted this to have a maze-like feel and have a sense of confusion about it. The images in each corner do actually represent something! Top-left portrays the Minotaur's mother pointing at a bull, it's father. Top-right shows the string Theseus uses to find his way out of the maze. Bottom left shows the Minotaur missing a horn (there are some versions of the story that describe the idea of Theseus ripping out one of the Minotaur's horns and stabbing it with it - I like this idea best! ;)) Bottom right shows human footprints, which the Minotaur would have used to follow it's pray. So yeah, I wanted the poster to have a vague narrative to it, like the Medusa one. :)

This has actually been simplified, after taking into consideration the (harsh) suggestions my tutors gave me. If I'd had *my* way this image would've been 100 times more detailed...;) Still, I think the flatness works in a sense too...sort of.

Looks really good, I think the silhouettes work well although, personally, I like the little details and would have liked to see something mind-bogglingly detailed, but its best to go with what the tutors say ;) Still looks good, I like the narrative aspect (thats one agonized scream!)

The maze colour makes me feel slightly dizzy when on full view, don't ask why! I didn't see you colour some of the letters on the "Graaar!" Like that touch :) I like the bottom left pic, with the horn missing, works well I think. And the wee footprints are a nice touch ;) I think Adam's right, we've been spoilt by your Medusa pic, would really like to see more detail! :P Am wondering where you could put it though, cos I mean the labyrinth bold border does work really well.
Anyways, *thumbs up*!

hmm... I think the general consensus is that (and I dont mean to put you in even more of a quandry) the medusa pic is way more detailed, and gives a feeling of menace. I think this is a lot more, erm...mellow and calm, and thats not the way I see the minotaur (I'd do him with mad glowering eyes and sharp teeth, but thats a phase I'm going through at the moment). He should be practically roaring out of that frame, mouth slobbering. Or his eyes looking around, as if he's searching the maze for theseus and is just looking through a partition or something. Also, and these are only suggestions remember, I dont think you'd like me to be going 'oh wow! thats great' when I have things to say...would you? Anyway, also, your'e trying to tell the whole story of theseus and the minotaur in those boxes, especially with the woman (I forget her name) in the corner. Why not just have the story of them two stalking around the maze for each other...I dunno

this would all mean more detail though wouldnt it :o

anyways, I love the footprints walking through the maze, especially where those of the minotaur meet with the human footprints, the hoofprints definately 'stomp' around while the human ones run around in panic. The figure of theseus standing there pathetically with his sword is brilliant in contrast with the hulking minotaur The silouhette of the bull at the top says it all, ancient greeks, greek pottery, everything.

I'm just being honest...doesnt mean you have to listen to me.
