Happy family by greyflea Happy family by greyflea
An image from my final major project at uni - this is the second part, in which I've layed an acetate sheet over the top of my original image. I wanted to show the same person, but make them look bizarre and out of the ordinary (it's actually part of a catalogue for a fancy-dress shop :D)

Here's a happy family! I didn't want to dress-up the adults, as I thought it'd be more entertaining for the kids to show their 'true nature'. ;) You can't see it here, but the kids faces on the original gouache painting are quite innocent looking, so I wanted that to go against their evil alter-egos. Bless 'em. :D

:D I'd love to! Only problem is that I can't sew or make things to save my life! I remember my textiles teacher saying to me when I was 12 "I love your designs Astrid, but I've never seen such terrible sewing!" and I agree. ;D Thankyou!

well i duno, shes really nice for a tutor - very friendly n all, but very very honest with work - and she likes good finishes and stuff. i like putting huge handles on cups and she like tiny little ones u cant get a finger thru! plus i like putting the glazes on with a brush so its thicker and thinner and stuff, and she likes it all neat and tidy type thing. :S

Sounds a bit like Wendy then! This is why I think art is impossible to mark - it all comes down to preferences. What she likes, other people hate and vice versa.

*Thumbs up* This is how I see all kids anyways, they look all weird 'normal' underneath the acetate ;) Like the girls hair, a ghostly gust of wind! And yay, bright orange background!

Omigod, you're alive on here! ;) Well thankyou my darling, tis how I see kids too. ;D Yeah, it's like the kids are in a different dimension, where there's a wind machine blowing the girl's hair around, hehe. Cheers, bint! :D

cute and sick, if a little immature. I find myself wondering what the hell the father's thinking that would paint such a grin upon his face. Lecherous thoughts perhaps?

I knew it! Kid's BE EVIL! EEEEEEVVVVIL! ;)
Its really a neat idea. The detail in their clothes and armor and whatnots came out really really well. I love this series. I'm completely impressed. Great stuff, m'friend!

Yay, I'm glad you think so! :D It's difficult trying to line the damn things up (the acetate and background paper) but nothing a paperclip or two won't fix! ;) Thanks a lot!

And there was me thinking I'd get first comment for once :fork: mars must be out of conjunction with pluto or that new planet...sasquatch or something. This one really creeped me out when I first saw it, think its the blackened eyes and the puckered skin. More backgrounds? what is a boy to do. The spindly fingers of the girl are brilliant, and the waving tentacle/hair stuff and the yoda ears of the boy. If only there was some way of animating it so the acetate went on the image underneath...not as if youv'e got anything important to be doing

*laughs mischeviously*

*Laughs* Planet Sasquatch?!?! Is that the one with the great moons Kwyjibo and Shazzbut orbiting it? ;) Ah good, I'm glad you said it's a bit creepy - that's just what I wanted. Kids are evil to me anyway. ;) Oh gawd, don't David - if I had the time, perhaps, but...er...I don't! ;D

No, there will never be any moon or planet, even though there are billions upon billions of them and probably all the names in existence couldnt fit them, named kwyjibo.

'Kwyjibo' :unimpressed:

And what's wrong with 'Kwyjibo'? I think it's a perfectly sound name. ;) I'd like to live on the planet Kwyjibo. :D
